Gathering at Old Wappetaw Cemetery
Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write: blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. They will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
Revelation 14:13
Dear Friends,
This Sunday, November 16, at 3:00 we will gather at Old Wappetaw Cemetery for a time of remembering, prayer, music and of course delicious refreshments. We have invited the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian congregation and choir to join us as we unveil the new sign on the property and hear a speaker from the SC 250 Commission. 2026 will be a big year of remembering the accomplishments of our nation’s leaders on the national, state and local levels since our country was formed 250 years ago. Both congregations, New Wappetaw and Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian are indebted to many of the folks buried in the old cemetery.
We will be loading chairs after worship Sunday and will need some of our guys to help set up. Also, we need finger foods for the reception outside following the service.
Have a great week.
Blessings,
Mike
Stewardship…. Thanks to the many families who turned in pledge cards Sunday, November 9, for stewardship dedication. We will continue to receive pledges throughout November.
Pavilion… members of the Pavilion committee presented a rendering of a proposed pavilion for our property at the congregational meeting yesterday following worship. The congregation approved allowing the committee to move forward with permits, drawings and other pre-construction requirements, with up to $10,000 in expenses. The committee will bring information back to the congregation at a later date.
