Rev. Dr. Michael Lee Fitze
Stated Supply Pastor
Mike was raised in North Charleston and graduated from R.B. Stall High School. He holds degrees from USC, The College of Charleston, and Columbia Seminary. In addition, he has certificates in Real Estate and Interior Design. He received his Master Gardener designation from Clemson University in 2005. Mike and Rosemary were married in 1972 and are parents to a daughter Jennifer (Matt) and two grandchildren Savannah and Will.
Mike’s involvement in the church includes serving as an elder at Yeamans Park Presbyterian, serving on the staff of Foothills and Charleston Atlantic Presbyteries, serving on the board of the Synod of South Atlantic, attending several General Assembly meetings, chairing Congregational Development in two Presbyteries and teaching New Church Development across the country. He currently serves on the Commission on Ministry for CAP.
Mike was called to New Wappetaw in 1991 following seminary. He served as organizing pastor of the Providence Presbyterian church in Greenville (1995-2007) and as organizing pastor of Palmetto Presbyterian in Mt. Pleasant (2007-2022). Upon his retirement in September 2022, Mike was named Pastor Emeritus of Palmetto Presbyterian.
Mike and Rosemary reside in Mt. Pleasant with their miniature dachshund Sadie.

Susan McAdoo
Pianist & Choir Director
Susan McAdoo is a solo and collaborative pianist, teacher, vocal coach, and choir director. She has performed in Spoleto, Piccolo Spoleto, in numerous concerts throughout the East Coast, as well as Europe and Asia.
A dedicated educator, Susan loves sharing her passion with students of all ages and maintains an active piano studio. Before moving to Charleston, she served on the piano faculty at Campbell University and UNC-Chapel Hill. As the pianist for the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Susan has worked with many esteemed conductors. She has sung with the Westminster Choir, Duke Chapel Choir and Schola Cantorum, as well as locally with the CSO Chorus and Taylor Festival Choir.
She holds performance degrees from Westminster Choir College and UNC-Chapel Hill.
Our Elders

Scott Youngblood
John “Scott” Youngblood was born and raised on James Island, South Carolina. He graduated from Newberry College in 1978. He was employed by United States Probation, Parole and Pretrial Services until his retirement in 2012 and then served as the Officer-In-Charge of the Charleston Division. He moved to McClellanville in 2011. He has a 32 year old son, a 34 year old daughter and a 2 year old granddaughter. He recently married Linda Collins in McClellanville in the chapel of New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church; both are members of New Wappetaw.

Bob Dunn
I was born in Sumter, SC where I spent my first 25 years. After a few years in Columbia, Nancy and I moved to Mount Pleasant where we lived for 36 years before moving to McClellanville in 2021. I am a lifelong Presbyterian and have been active on a number of committees (missions, finance, personnel, stewardship, building, confirmation and pastor search). I have served as deacon and elder in several churches. I look forward to serving as elder here at New Wappetaw.

Karen McClellan
Karen and her husband Lee joined NWPC in spring of 2022. She has been involved in different activities and projects since joining. She served on the AED committee and organized the training. Karen frequently serves as the liturgist, occasionally teaches Sunday school, and actively participates in the women’s circle. She loves to study the Bible digging deeper to understand God’s plan for her and her life. Serving in the church and the community helps her draw closer to God, and she considers it an honor to serve NWPC in any capacity God desires of her.

Drew Allison
Drew has been a member of New Wappetaw since 2013. He has headed the Men’s Group, is currently heading the Fellowship Committee, and continues to coordinate the Recycling Route as part of the Men’s community outreach. By profession, Drew is a puppeteer. He is the founder of Grey Seal Puppets and has performed regularly on television and on stage nationwide. Drew is so honored and humbled to be asked to serve as an elder at New Wappetaw.

Kathy Allen
Kathy was born and raised in McClellanville. She’s been married to her husband, Gilbert, for over 25 years and has 3 beautiful children: Claire, Cody, and Cade. Her other job is working as a financial center manager for Wells Fargo Bank in Mt. Pleasant, where she has been employed with the same institution for over 23 years. She is deeply honored and looks forward to serving this New Wappetaw congregation. She is thankful for this opportunity and promises to do her absolute best to uphold the duties as an elder of New Wappetaw.

Bryan Jones
Bryan Jones is a devoted member of New Wappetaw who has been actively involved in the congregation since joining by affirmation of faith with his family. Known for his outgoing and gregarious nature, Bryan has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to serving our church community. His involvement includes helping with liturgy and being a willing and reliable volunteer when called upon. Bryan is married to Dana and they have 2 children, Ella Grace (12) and Easton (6).

Beth Gannon
Beth Gannon was born and raised in McClellanville and joined New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church at approximately age 12. She has been an active and dedicated member throughout her life. Her service to the church has included teaching preschool Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, helping lead the youth group, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, singing in the choir, participating in the Women of the Church, and serving one term as an Elder. Beth retired in 2011 after a 37-year career at Georgetown Hospital. She has been married to her husband, Bob, since 1972, and they have three adult children and six grandchildren.

Huger McClellan
Huger McClellan is a lifelong resident of McClellanville, proudly rooted in the community he has served for decades. He retired from the U.S. Army after 23 years of honorable service, followed by 15 years with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources. A graduate of American Military University, Huger is a devoted member of New Wappetaw Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an Elder, oversees the church cemetery, and faithfully tends the grounds. He is Director of the Village Museum, continuing his commitment to preserving the town’s rich history. Huger and his wife, Michelle, are blessed with three daughters and four grandchildren.
