Greetings Friends,

Last week I sent some cards to folks I call MIA (missing in action), families who have been away from worship for several weeks. And sure enough, some of them were here in worship yesterday. The point of these ’notes’ is not to say ‘where were you’, it’s simply to remind folks that I care and miss them at church. 

We have a prayer list and there are not many names on it because most of you don’t want anyone to know when you are sick or in the hospital (and I respect that) but when I’m sick I want the nurture team to know because someone will bring me something good to eat! Seriously, this is a caring congregation and its always good to have others praying for us when we are dealing with some challenging issue be it health, or some loss.

It’s also good to share when we have good news! Not everyone wants to tell the church how old they are but it was a blessing to sing happy birthday to Dr. Bonner and help him celebrate turning 95.

Our nurture team sends cards and small ‘care packages’ to our college students, so please make sure we have those school addresses. And if YOU see someone who hasn’t been in church for a while, go ahead and tell them they were missed…it shows you care!
