Changing Seasons

 “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season..”

II Timothy 4:2

Dear Friends,

Yesterday was the last of the “Summer Sundays” here at New Wappetaw! This was determined not by the seasons but by the Charleston County school district! So yesterday we had the blessing of the backpacks even though many of our families with school aged children were still away getting in one last weekend before the new ‘routine’ begins. 

I guess I am really old because I remember when school didn’t start until after Labor Day. Still, I think the ’seasons’ do determine how we spend much of our free time. I tried doing a midweek Bible study in the spring and after a few sessions that were poorly attended the consensus was we should wait until the fall.

So tonight at our monthly session meeting I will recommend we have a ’seasonal’ FALL bible study.

Hey, we still have a few weeks before Labor Day so if you aren’t in a Charleston County school classroom, enjoy this vacation “season”.

Session Meeting – The elders will be holding their monthly session meeting tonight, August 10th.
