Advent Preparations
“Prepare the way for the Lord…”
Matthew 3:3
Dear friends,
Advent is a time of preparations… getting ready for the “main event,” Christmas… the birth of Jesus…God with us. Thanks to all who came Saturday to prepare the church in anticipation of our Hanging of the Greens service Sunday morning and thanks to those who prepared the way for the fun festivities Sunday night at the town tree lighting with the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus in the fellowship hall and the meal prepared by the women of the church!
Of course our Advent preparations aren’t over, so here is a list of things you can do during Advent to prepare:
- Bring your gifts for the angel tree for the Students at St James/ Santee school by December 11th so our missions team can deliver them to the school
- Pick up some mittens, a scarf, or some gloves for the mitten tree set up in the church narthex
- Join us for communion THIS Sunday, December 7th
- Be here for the children’s pageant during worship on December 21st
- Catch up on your giving to the church for 2025
- Turn in your pledge card for 2026
- Invite someone to our Christmas Eve Christmas Eve service at 6:00
- Commit to reading a special advent devotional daily
- Pray that all may experience the hope, peace, love and joy of Advent 2025.
Advent Blessings,
Mike
