November: A Month of Gratitude
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
Psalm 136:1
Dear Friends,
While it is true that we offer thanksgiving to God all year, November is the month we “officially” reflect on all the things we have to be thankful for. This Sunday is stewardship dedication Sunday, a time to make pledges to the church for the coming year. My sermon title is “Giving and Receiving: Which Comes First?”
I would encourage you to think about all the good things you have received this year and then offer a prayer of thanksgiving to God if you are in a position to give. If your health is good, your family is safe, you have food on the table and a roof over your head, if you have friends and more importantly, if you have a purpose for living… all of these things that make life worth living are the result of God’s grace.
I had a very humble friend who told me years ago, “you can never out-give God.” It is a statement I have kept close to my heart all these years later.
Thank you for your participation and support of our ministry.
I hope to see you Sunday!
Blessings,
Mike
