“Good News”

“We’re not doing this right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves…. Let’s go at once and report this…”         II Kings 7:9

Dear Friends,

On the NBC news each night they end the broadcast with a short snippet of “good news.” Maybe we should be reporting good news in the church more often. I am always excited to share with my colleagues in ministry the “good news” of what is happening here at New Wappetaw but I’m aware that they might see my excitement as bragging.

Let me just share information about upcoming events in the life of our church and you can decide for yourself if it is good news:

* This Sunday ( May 25) we will recognize our graduates in worship.

* We had a very productive session meeting Sunday after worship and our new ministry teams are busy doing the work of the church.

*During the summer, the fellowship team will sponsor refreshments on the lawn during the third Sunday of June, July and August.

*The CE team is busy working on the Community Bible School to be held here at New Wappetaw on July 7-11. The theme is “Water Missions.”

*We will be collecting food items again for ECCO in June.
